Elon Musk has allegedly declared that remote labor at Tesla is “no longer acceptable.”
According to Electrek and Bloomberg, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has adopted a firm position against his staff working from home.
“If there are particularly exceptional contributors for whom this is not possible, I will personally review and approve those exceptions. Of course, there are companies that do not require this, but when was the last time they shipped a fantastic new product?”
Some companies, such as Apple, are experimenting with a hybrid model in which people come into the office just part of the week.
Tesla’s adamant attitude places it as an exception in the so-called “new normal.”
“If you fail to appear, we will assume you have resigned,” Musk wrote.
Working from home during the epidemic, according to Elon Musk, ‘tricked’ people into believing they didn’t need to work hard. Economists believe he’s completely incorrect.
According to Elon Musk, “tricked people into thinking that you don’t actually need to work hard.”
“All the Covid stay-at-home stuff has tricked people into thinking that you don’t actually need to work hard.” he tweeted last month.
Musk, who has raged against lockdown restrictions and disregarded shelter-in-place directives in order to return employees to his California Tesla plant in May 2020, maybe mistaken about remote employment.
According to Bloomberg, Elon Musk has allegedly delivered an ultimatum to Tesla employees: return to the workplace or find another job.
Musk requires staff to spend at least 40 hours per week in the office, which is less than what manufacturing workers are required to do.
